SRI LANKA

With its stunning terrain, Sri Lanka is on the top of our bucket list. Visiting is an out-of-this-world experience. The South Asian county is known with its nickname “the pearl of the Indian ocean” due to its shape and location. This name seems to suit Sri Lanka perfectly a it does feel like a peaceful paradise comfortably lost in the middle of the ocean.

Sri Lanka has attracted travellers from near and far for the last couple of decades. The country's Civil War ended only over ten years ago and tourism seems to slowly make a comeback. People and nature co-exist together in harmony and there is so much to do to connect with the country - from hiking historical rock formations like Sigiriya Rock to visiting Kaudulla National Park and surfing in Hikkaduwa. There is nothing like the views of the tea plantations from the window of your train as it is heading further into Sri Lanka to put the thought of being there into perspective. This incredible island country is a dream and we fall in love with it all over again each time we visit.
