Packing for a trip can be stressful especially if you are planning a long stay away from home. Yet, you don't have to bring all your possessions along for the ride, especially if you travel on a budget. Save yourself the trouble of packing heavy and surprise yourself by bringing new life to your old clothes.

The fashion industry releases 1.2 billion tonnes of gas emissions each year. This outweighs some of the biggest industry polluters combined. Fast fashion is one of nature's worst enemies, but you can easily spare your wallet and the environment a great deal of trouble. When you're planning your next trip try transforming what you already own and consider packing light.

Experiment with paint. Draw at the back of hoodies and jackets. Paint your old leather pants or skirts. Write your poems on your old dresses and watch them shine with a whole new authentic glow. White paint goes extremely well on dark fabric and black leather, for example.

Weather you're good with colour, sewing or you have any other crafty skills, learn what you like and transform your clothes away. Not only will this give a unique touch to your wardrobe, but it will also put your creativity to great personal and environmental use.

The best way to give your old clothes a new glory is by making sure you have fun with it.  If you are a lover of the outdoors, head on a small hiking trip in your local region. If you live in a coastal city, go down to the beach. One of the best ways to escape the noise in big cities is by going for a little picnic in the nearby parks.

Whatever your location, you don't necessarily need to stay at home. You don't even need to do it solo. Bring along a friend and spice up your time together by doing something nontraditional and creative. While you teach each other crafty skills, you can also explore new music while tasting the product of your previous day culinary extravaganza. Another great way to add up to your design activities, is to bring along a camera. Film your artistic adventures so you can look back on them and have even more fun watching the videos with your friends and family. The footage and pictures you take could be a great start of your new adventure, if you add holiday shots of your future travels to the film mix.

Stand out from the crowd with unique fashion pieces that express who you are and what you stand up for. Go bold and crafty, as you renew your wardrobe and remain kind to nature. Join the post fast fashion generation where sustainability is a choice of lifestyle and not a luxury.
