This is our guide to Coral Coast and all the things you should do there to explore the coastline

The beauty of Coral Coast precedes its reputation. Villagers tend to be quite welcoming as they are used to tourists by now. It is possible to get an authentic Fiji experience while visiting the Coral Coast. You can decide between spending the day on the beach or walking around and even have a conversation with the locals or fellow tourists. While you’re staying at the resorts there you can make the most of your stay on the coastline. Read our suggestion of things you can do to explore the land’s culture, values and wildlife.

 

Swim

What is a day spend at the Coral Coast without a little swimming? You’ve probably already planned most of your time there just standing on the beach, catching some vitamin D and swimming. We know that exploring the culture of the Coral Coast and learning about its history is fascinating and a must but makes sure to also experience what it is to go for a swim in the cool waters of the South Pacific Ocean.

 

Snorkel

When the tide is high, you can go for a little water adventure and snorkel around the coast. It is always captivating to be close to the marine creatures and seeing them with the sunlight breaking into the water while you snorkel your way around will be an unforgettable experience.

 

Explore the local markets

Go for a little shopping break when you’ve has enough of the water. Explore the markets of Coral Coast and definitely try their fresh fruits. This way you will help the local independent sellers as well as have a taste of the coast, literally.

 

Go to the Kalevu Cultural Centre

If you want to experience Fiji’s culture firsthand, you should visit the Kalevu Cultural Centre, which is 10 minutes away from Coral Coast. There, you will see people dancing, singing and sharing their customs with nomads. You will be able to witness their ceremonies and widen your cultural appreciation for Fiji’s traditions.

 

See the Sigatoka Sand Dunes

A cool way to see the nature of Coral Coast is to pay a visit to the Sigatoka Sand Dunes. The sand dunes are about 5 km long, so you will be able to explore the coastline’s terrain and make the most of your visit to the national parks of Coral Coast while you’re there.

 

Spend an evening at the beach bars

There is nothing better than a beach bar. It somehow makes us feel that summer can last forever. Islands know how to run beach bars so make sure to spend at least one of your evenings exploring the night scene in Coral Coast. You will not be disappointed. The view of the coast is magical at night.

 

Go on a boat

You can only explore the coast on land for so long. It is completely different to see it from afar. Have you considered renting a boat? This way, you will be able to appreciate the beauty of the little paradise you’re staying at while seeing its full and utter beauty in a short distance.

 

Visit the Kula Eco Park

When you have become tired of swimming, head to Kula Eco Park and see some of the ocean creatures do all the swimming. Being able to see sea turtles, fishes, mammals and birds in their natural habitat is an incredible experience.

 

Biausevu Waterfall

As most wild places that have kept their native charm, Coral Coast also has plenty of natural wonders you can plan a trip to. One of them is the Biausevu Waterfall. If you want to see nature’s force and will, check out the waterfall.

 

Naihehe Cave

Naihehe literally translates to ‘a place to get lost’. It was a home of the Sautabu people, who would often seek protection from their enemies in the cave. Legend has it that whoever wants to enter the cave must ask permission of the Priest (Bete), otherwise they risk getting sick.
