CAPE VERDE

This independent island is possibly not the first thing that comes to mind when you're thinking of exploring islands around the world, but it is definitely one worth paying attention to. Officially Republic of Cabo Verde, the archipelago is positioned in the central part of the Atlantic Ocean. It consists of 10 islands, which have been formed from a volcanic activity. Along with the islands of Madeira, Canary Islands, Savage Isles and Azores, Cape Verde formed the so called 'islands of the Blessed'.

The land was uninhabited until 1456 when colonialism gave Cape Verde its population - 44 000 people currently inhabit the island. Today, many people plan a trip there and captivated by the wildness of the archipelago, don't want to leave. There are many ways to get to know Cape Verde - walk along the small villages or explore the postcard-like beaches.  Listen to the rhythm of morna, the music genre originating from Cape Verde, and let your instincts guide your way while exploring the culture and nature of this beautiful African place.
