One of Italy's most Instagram-famous places, Capri never fails to provide a good time. A picturesque paradise meets laid-back sophistication and minimal Mediterranean charm tops it all off. Welcome to Capri - an island that seems like it has materialized from a dream.

Situated in the heart of Italy’s Bay of Naples, Capri attracts nomads with promises for yacht trips, limoncello drinks and swims in the azure waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. From afar, with the sun throwing golden shades over the island, Capri looks stunning. Catch the ferry to see its silhouette appear on the horizon and as you get nearer, if it hasn't already, the splendor of this Italian gem will enchant you effortlessly.

La dolce vita has never fitted more perfectly than when you are walking on the shores, admiring the locals' way of slow living. Even though it seems like a romantic place that you should save from ticking off your bucket list until you can head there with your other half, Capri is just as welcoming to solo travellers. It won't be hard making acquaintances with the locals who don't mind giving directions and sometimes even invite travellers to show them around in true Italian style. The island is so diverse, you won't get bored and each day there will be something new to do. Leave your bags in the guest house or hotel you are staying at and head to the sandy beaches straight away. At lunchtime, make sure to accompany a glass of wine with fresh seafood or a light bite before exploring La Piazzetta Capri on foot as cars are prohibited there. The beauty of Capri is just as divine at nighttime as it is during the day. When the night falls and lights from restaurants and shops surrounds you, the island will look like Italy best kept secret.

On your second day make sure to spend some time at the beach so the sun can kiss your skin. Hire a yacht or a boat to get a better view of the island from afar. It quickly becomes easy to see why Capri has inspired filmmakers, literary icons, poets and artists over the years. While you head further into the shining crystal-clear waters of the sea, the villas with their beautiful gardens and the tranquil beaches will be just distant enough to see, but further away to feel like you are somewhere on one has been before.

Dating back to the times of the Roman Empire, the island is as charming as it has ever been. Enjoy the art of slow living on the mainland or head to Anacapri - the less populated and little-known about place on the island. However you design your stay, it will be an unforgettable experience and one to do Italy the justice it deserves. One of our favourite places in Europe, Capri is an epitome of 'la dolce vita' and it steals our hears away each time we visit.
